We are excited to join our parent organization, Prevent Child Abuse America (PCA America), in celebrating a half a century of progress in preventing child maltreatment by addressing the root causes of abuse and neglect. A pioneer in the field for the past 50 years, PCA America – along with its statewide chapter network and Healthy Families America sites – have collectively led the movement to help children and families thrive.

Based in Chicago but with a nationwide reach, PCA America and its affiliates are on a mission to shift the national narrative around child abuse and neglect – focusing firmly on creating the conditions for all children, families and communities to thrive. By focusing on all forms of family supports, our nation and communities can prevent child abuse and neglect and maximize opportunities for every child to reach their full potential – regardless of race, gender, or socioeconomic background.

“It’s an exciting year for our entire network, and we’re thrilled to join in on PCA America’s 50th anniversary celebration,” said Claire Louge, Executive Director. “Looking ahead, we will all continue to work toward a future where all children grow up happy and healthy in supportive families and communities.”

As our parent organization celebrates 50 years, we’re reminded of the importance of partnership in prevention work – the robust history of PCA America and the strength of our network allows us to work across sectors to develop more just and equitable systems that break harmful intergenerational cycles of trauma and poverty. Moving forward, we will continue our efforts to build a world where children and families can thrive.
