~1,000 Attendees Connect and Collaborate at 31st Child Abuse Prevention Conference
The 31st annual Child Abuse Prevention Conference on July 29 and 30, 2025, featured a record-breaking turnout, with nearly 1,000 participants coming together for an event centered on belonging.
For two days, attendees were asked to lean into the idea that Prevention Made Possible is Belonging. In big and small ways, participants explored the idea of belongingness – from making meaningful connections with other attendees to contributing to the event’s photo mosaic wall, which served as a beautiful reminder that each participant has a place here.
Through four inspiring keynote speeches and dozens of workshops, attendees were encouraged to think about the ways they have – and haven’t – belonged throughout their lives, and the incredible power and responsibility they have to create a sense of belonging for others.
As one attendee aptly shared, “Belonging is a powerful need for all of us, and when you feel that you belong, great things happen!”
In an ongoing effort to make the conference accessible to participants who otherwise would not be able to attend, 130 registration scholarships were offered this year, with a focus on attendees from rural areas. This was made possible by the generous support of the Department of Child Safety Office of Prevention and the Arizona Department of Health Services.
When asked to reflect on the most valuable part of the conference, one participant shared that it “really reminded me that belonging is important for EVERYONE. And one act of kindness, empathy, or connection can change the world for a family.”
Another participant reflected, “Everyone who attended the conference has one common goal: to strengthen families. Which means there are still good people in this world who want to do good for our communities.”
This conference is proof that the community is filled with people who see themselves in prevention and are committed to strengthening Arizona’s families. Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to making this year a huge success!
You belong – and your work makes prevention possible.
